A short walkthrough: what GEN Gate is, how it works, and how it's set up. Opens with the GEN mark and this product's name — every film in the library is made for its product.

What it is

What GEN Gate is

The Gate is GEN's pre-engagement check, modeled on the disclosure systems expert networks use to stop a bad engagement before it is scheduled. Restrictions, conflicts, cooling-off rules, and relationship sensitivities are stored on the record, and the system checks them before outreach, before a shortlist is surfaced, and before an engagement is booked. A blocked action stops with its reason — it does not quietly proceed.

How it works

How it works

Restrictions are captured on company and person records: conflicts, exclusions, cooling-off periods, do-not-contact rules.

Any proposed outreach, shortlist, or booking is checked against the record first.

Clear actions proceed; blocked actions stop with the reason shown to the requester.

Overrides require a named human decision, which is logged.

Gate events are auditable — who tried, what was blocked, who approved, when.

The details

The details

  • Modeled on network compliance practice, where a bad call can create legal exposure — the check happens before scheduling, not after.
  • Protects relationships as well as compliance: the system remembers sensitivities an individual might forget.
  • Expert-call content never crosses the Gate into deal work — the data classes are separated by design.
  • Works with the CRM, Shortlist, and the phone and site agents: every channel checks the same record.
  • The Gate is a system component, operated as a service: GEN maintains the rules with the firm's owner.
