A short walkthrough: what GEN Registry is, how it works, and how it's set up. Opens with the GEN mark and this product's name — every film in the library is made for its product.

What it is

What GEN Registry is

The Registry is GEN's numbering system — the identity layer of the whole framework. Every parent firm, company, person, website, form, proposal, document, and audit receives a stable reference number when it enters the system, and keeps that number for life. Records never float free: each one points to its owner, its company, and the records it relates to, so anything can be found, verified, and handed over without archaeology.

How it works

How it works

A company enters the system and is issued its registry number.

Its people, sites, forms, and documents are numbered under it as they are created.

Every record carries its owner, source, version, and review date alongside the number.

The generated index crosswalks everything, so a website, a proposal, and an audit of the same company resolve to one identity.

The details

The details

  • Permanent numbers — retired numbers are never reused; corrected numbers become aliases, so history is never broken.
  • One number per entity across the whole framework: parent, company, and person levels share one grammar.
  • Deliverables are numbered too — websites, proposals, and reports are records, not loose files.
  • The index is generated from the registry, never hand-maintained, so it cannot drift from the truth.
  • Numbers are how parent oversight stays honest: rollups aggregate by number without pooling raw records.

Set up

How it's set up

Adopt the numbering standard at the parent level first.

Number the parent firm and its existing companies.

Number people and live assets as each company blueprint is instantiated.

Turn on the generated index view for the parent and each company.

In the duplication blueprint

Where GEN Registry sits

The first layer of every duplication. A new company is not real in the system until it is numbered, and every later product keys off that number.
